Welcome to Krafty Academy Summer Youth Program

The Krafty Academy Summer Youth Program, sponsored by Care Bear Playhouse, provides structured enrichment, recreation, and leadership experiences for children and teens during the summer months. We focus on creativity, academic support, positive peer engagement, and workforce readiness skills in a safe, supervised, non-clinical environment.

Our Mission
Youth Leadership

Teens ages 14 and up may apply for supervised leadership and workforce readiness opportunities, including Junior Mentor roles, Camp Assistant roles, Youth Leadership Team positions, Production Assistant training, community service opportunities, and workforce readiness training. All youth leadership roles are supervised by adults at all times, with teens serving in support and learning capacities. Parental consent is required, and youth employment certificate (work permit) requirements may apply under North Carolina law for teens ages 14-17.

Who can join?

Children and teens of all backgrounds are welcome. This program is a good fit for youth who benefit from structure, positive peer engagement, academic support, and opportunities to explore leadership and workforce skills. This is a supervised enrichment and leadership program, not a therapy, counseling, or medical service.

What activities?

We offer arts, sports, tutoring, leadership, We offer academic enrichment and tutoring, swimming and water safety, recreational sports and fitness, arts, music and creative expression, media, technology and content creation, leadership and life skills development, educational field trips, team building and social skills, and career exploration and workforce readiness training. All activities are supervised by adult staff and delivered as enrichment, not childcare or clinical treatment.

Are leadership roles available?

Yes. Teens ages 14 and up may apply for supervised leadership and workforce readiness opportunities. All youth leadership roles are supervised by adults at all times, with teens serving as assistants and learners rather than primary caregivers. Parental consent is required, and youth employment certificate (work permit) requirements may apply for teens ages 14-17 in North Carolina.

Families are responsible for transportation to and from the program. We may coordinate with community partners to share information about transit or carpool options when available.

Carebear Playhouse

Care Bear Playhouse, LLC is a youth enrichment programming organization. It is not a licensed childcare facility and does not provide custodial childcare services as defined under North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 110.

All programs offered by Care Bear Playhouse, LLC are structured, session-based instructional activities. Parents and legal guardians retain full legal custody and responsibility for enrolled minors at all times. Staff members are program facilitators and instructors, not licensed childcare providers.
